PCSO Dan goes back to school

PLAYDEN Primary had an arresting visitor in the form of local PCSO Dan Bevan.

Dan visited the reception class of St Michael’s last week and spoke to the children about stranger danger and his job in the community.

He also showed the children the equipment he carries around with him every day on foot patrol and let them say hello to colleagues over his police radio.

Police spokesman James Armstrong said: “His visit was full of interesting questions from the attentive class as he told stories of day to day life on the ‘beat’ and gave advice about keeping safe.

“Dan is a regular visitor to the school as it is on his ‘beat’ and the children thoroughly enjoyed time spent with their local Officer.

“Dan also helps run the Sussex Police Youth Academy, where police officers visit a school for a fun, exciting day of learning about police work, community and safety.

“The school has asked him to return to aid them with future projects.”
