Peace poster prizes

Posters created by Bexhill pupils were entered into the Lions' contest The Power of Peace.

Entries were from St Richards Catholic College, Glyne Gap School and St Marys School.

Each school sponsored by Bexhill Lions Club was given 100 in prize money to be divided by the winners and the school.

Entrants were aged 11 to 13 and Bexhill Lions youth chairman Eddie Bell was "impressed" by the amount of effort they put in.

The winning posters from each school advanced to the South East District level of the worldwide competition, and 12 year old India Landy from St Richards won that round of the competition.

Bexhill Lions Club awarded her a certificate and gift card voucher to the value of 60.

President Avril Ernshaw said: "It's obvious these young people have strong ideas of what peace means to them. I'm so proud we were able to provide them with the opportunity to share their vision with us."
