MERIDIAN EVENING WI: We were pleased to welcome three visitors to our last meeting. Our activity was provided by Sandria Reece who demonstrated Extend exercise routines, a programme of gentle movements designed to help keep our bodies supple. Some of these were done while sitting and others involved passing oversized pom poms to each other. While not over strenuous we certainly felt that we had used muscles and it was great fun. During the business part of the meeting we discussed a programme of daytime walks and some ideas for evening events such as meals out and cinema/theatre visits. Members continue to knit/crochet hats for a sailor’s charity, 60 made so far. Our newest charity venture is to knit/crochet teddies for The Pram Project who provides baby items for refugee women.

Our next meeting will be held on Wednesday in the Anzac Room, 7.15pm for 7.30pm, when we will be listening to a talk entitled Burma - The Road to Mandalay. New members are always welcome.
