Peacehaven Horticultural Society show was a huge success with great standards

Around 300 visitors turned out for Peacehaven Horticultural Society’s annual show at the Meridian Centre on Saturday August 10.

Exhibits included flower displays, cut flowers, vegetables, crafts, art, baking and photography.

The children’s competition boasted its largest number of entries ever, with a total of 29 entries.

Horticultural society secretary Alison Standing said: “All exhibits were of a great standard and it was brilliant to see so many children had taken the time to enter. The day was a great success.”

There was tombola, name the scarecrow and a raffle.

Children’s section winners were: Jim Moore Challenge Shield, Kyle Woolven and Millenium Cup, Pippa Farmiloe.

Other winners were: Banksian Medal, Ginny Lambert Memorial Cup, Neville Challenge Cup and the Peacehaven Cup, Margaret Wooll.

The Mary Burnage Memorial Cup, Mrs Neville Cup and the H Taylor Memorial Cup, Wilf Ashdown; the George Kenny Cup, Sayers Cup, Percy Ince Trophy, and the Linda Hallett Sheild Bill Barton.
