A PEACEHAVEN woman will appear in court today (Monday July 30) following a stabbing incident in the town on Friday night (July 27).

Samantha Stirling, 23, unemployed, of Cinque Foil will appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court charged with Grievous Bodily Harm with intent.

Police were alerted at 11pm by ambulance paramedics who had been called to a house in Cinque Foil and discovered a 30-year-old local man with serious, potentially life-threatening injuries to his side and back, lying outside.

Officers forced entry to the property and arrested a woman.

The victim was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton where his condition on Sunday morning was described as stable and recovering.

Detective inspector Andy Harbour from East Sussex CID said: “This was a nasty incident, but I would like to reassure people living locally that it was entirely contained to this property and only involved two people known to each other.

“If anyone does have any information about the incident or witnessed anything in the time leading up to it, please call Sussex Police on 101 quoting Operation Ansley.

“Alternatively, call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
