Peacehaven MP calls for more buses and reliable service along the coast

The number 12X and 13X buses which run through Peacehaven and Telscombe should be more frequent and more reliable, according to Peacehaven MP Simon Kirby.

Constituents have raised concerns with the MP about the existing service, run by Brighton and Hove Buses.

They are reporting that buses often come together after a gap of up to 30 minutes between services.

Mr Kirby said: “Residents regularly tell me that more 12X and 13X buses would be welcome, especially at busy times when people are trying to get to work or make their way to Brighton Station.

“Furthermore, there can be periods of the day when the service frequency seems to extend well beyond the 10 minutes or so that is advertised.

“I have written to the Brighton and Hove Bus Company to raise these points and to urge the company to improve the service for residents of Kemp Town, Telscombe and Peacehaven who use these routes by increasing the number of buses on the routes and I will keep constituents updated on my efforts.”

The bus services run between Churchill Square in Brighton to Eastbourne, stopping in Telscombe Cliffs, Peacehaven and Newhaven along the way.
