The Mayor of Peacehaven Robert Robertson was delighted to welcome Papa John’s to the town’s business community this week.
The pizza take-away in South Coast Road was officially opened by cllr Robertson on Tuesday December 2.
Accompanied by Deborah Donovan, civic and marketing officer for Peacehaven Town Council, Mayor Robertson met Papa John’s area manager Brighton Makombe and marketing manager Kylee Charles for the event.
Presenting the store with a smart plaque, the mayor took time to talk with staff whilst taking great interest in the live cooking demonstrations that he and many of the customers had the chance to enjoy whilst waiting to collect their orders.
Employing more than eight staff, the store has been warmly welcomed by Peacehaven’s residents who have ensured the first week’s trading has got off to a great start.
Brighton Makombe said: “We are so pleased to be here in Peacehaven.
“It’s a vibrant town offering a diverse range of businesses who have all been very supportive to us.”
Cllr Robertson and guests enjoyed samples of pizzas including chicken barbecue, cheese and tomato and all the meats.
The new Papa John’s is at 200 South Coast Road.
Peacehaven Town Council said: “The mayor was delighted to open the new store and is very happy to help and support new businesses in the town.”
Papa John’s will take part in the mayor’s ‘Bin it’ competition at Peacehaven’s Christmas Festival on Saturday December 13.
Cllr Robertson has 12 large wheelie bins to give away when Jon Borthwick, Peacehaven’s Town Crier, will be setting some Christmas quiz questions.
The first visitor to the festival to answer correctly wins a bin.
Another bin will be given away to the first Peacehaven E-News reader who answers the question set by the Mayor and phones through to Peacehaven Town Council with the correct answer.
