Peasmarsh

CHRISTMAS: Less than a week until the big day and Peasmarsh is looking very festive with lots of lights and decorations on display. I would like to wish everyone in our village a very Happy Christmas, hope everyone gets something nice in their stocking!

CHRISTMAS LUNCH: I popped into the hall on Monday to see how the Christmas Lunch was going - the hall was full and everyone was tucking into their festive fare, all suitably attired in party hats! Many thanks to Steve and his students for providing an excellent lunch.

LUNCH CLUB: The next Lunch Club will be on January 5 2015; Lisa and James of Royal Snacks will be back catering at the hall for this lunch. Please remember to book by Saturday December 3 for this lunch - ring Jenny Als on 230324.

PEASMARSH QUIZ: The first Quiz of 2015 will take place on January 10, 7.30pm.

MARSH WARBLERS: Peasmarsh Church stepped back into history on Friday night with the arrival of the Marsh Warblers in their 19th century costumes, and an enthusiastic audience enjoyed a wonderful varied programme of “Gallery Quire” music and readings from Thomas Hardy’s “Under the Greenwood Tree”. Despite the cold night there was a good turnout and during the interval there was hot home-made soup with cheese rolls and salad. The Friends of Peasmarsh Church are grateful to Tony Singleton and his “Warblers”, some of whom travelled a considerable distance to entertain us.

CAROL SERVICE: There will be Carols in the church this Sunday evening at 6.30pm. Come and complete your Christmas singing your favourite carols with the young Barleycorns and the Peasmarsh & District WI Choir

CHRISTMAS CHURCH SERVICES: This Sunday December 21 the 8am service will be at Beckley, the 10am service will be at Peasmarsh. On Christmas Eve there will be a service of Midnight Mass at both churches at 11.30pm. On Christmas Day there will be a Family Communion service at Peasmarsh church at 10am.
