Peasmarsh village voice

After the outstanding success of the Volunteer Working Party in the churchyard on August 19th those who would like to help with this work are being invited to come again this Sunday, September 16th from 2pm.

This clearance should enable those who are shortly setting out to list and catalogue the graves so that visitors and descendants who visit will be able to identify family memorials easily.

Come and enjoy some good company and some satisfying hard work with tea and cakes!

Put it in your diaries now. The Rye and District Association of the National Trust have the following events planned : On Saturday September 15 there will be a coffee morning at Bodiam Castle Tea Rooms from 11.00 am. Members and prospective members are invited to come and meet the committee in convivial surroundings for an informal chat over a cup of tea/coffee. On Thursday September 20 the winter Talks season begins with a presentation by Ray Shayler - History of the families of Scotney Castle. We plan to vary the venue each month during the coming talks season as it has been suggested that a regular venue doesn’t suit everybody. We welcome your feedback on this point. This Talk will be at the Playden WI Hall commencing at 2.30pm, entrance fee £2 members and £3 non members which includes refreshments after the talk.
