Proceeds are kindly being donated to The Oliver Curd Trust; everyone welcome.

A reminder that the AGM of the Peasmarsh Village Society takes place tonight (Friday 15th) in the Memorial Hall at 7.00pm.

After the business at approx. 7.40pm there will be a talk by Stephen Hardy from the CPRE (Campaign for the Protection of Rural England).

He will be talking about their ‘Bottle Initiative’. They have been lobbying the Government to introduce a scheme whereby you pay an extra charge on any bottle you buy which can be redeemed when returned to designated points, thus cutting down on so much littering.

There are obviously good and bad points about such a scheme so come along and express your point of view.

The CPRE also have other projects of interest about which we can learn, so if you love our countryside come along and learn.

Peasmarsh Place in Church Lane will be holding an Open Garden event on Sunday 24th October, from 11am until 4pm, adults admission £3.50, children free; there will be refreshments and plants for sale.

I hope you’ve all made room in your hectic social lives to pencil in the date of the next Quiz Night – Saturday 6th November!

Peasmarsh Flying-Start Parent & Toddler Group is held every Tuesday afternoon during term time, at the pre-school in School Lane and welcomes all children under the age of 5 and their families.  The group starts at 1.20pm and costs £2 per family.

Peasmarsh Parish Council is still seeking a resident to fill the vacancy on the council. This is a good time to “try it out” as the whole council comes up for election next May, and so a firm commitment would only be for the next 6 months.

Contact the acting Clerk Robin Thompson on 230356 or [email protected] for further details.

This Sunday the service at Peasmarsh Church will be Holy Eucharist at 10am. The 8am service will be at Beckley, with a Deanery Healing Service at Iden at 6pm. There will be no evening service at Peasmarsh this Sunday.
