Pebsham school pancake race

SHROVE-Tuesday got off to a flying start at Pebsham school with both a Pupils and a Teachers Pancake Race.

Head Teacher Pat Strickson said the event, which took place following assembly at morning playtime, was a lot of fun, with one five year old pupil in particular putting the adults to shame.

Pat said: "Libby is just five, she had the biggest frying pan and was just having a practice before the race, and seemingly without any effort catapulted her pancake into the air!"

Of the event she said:"It was really funny and noisy with everyone shouting and cheering for their friends and teachers."

Despite being unable to stop laughing, the school's Parent Information Contact, Mrs Payne, still succeeded in beating the head and most of the other teachers.

Medals and certificates were presented to the winners.
