Pebsham School summer fair

THEY do things in style at Pebsham Community Primary School. Fresh from the surprise masked ball which colleagues had staged for her, senior teacher Sue Targett arrived dressed fit for a queen on Saturday. And so she should.

Sue has worked for 21 of her 29 year teaching career at Pebsham. Now she will be taking life a little easier.

But first there was an official function to perform. Queen for a day and assisted by Bexhill Carnival Princess Nichola Wadey, Sue donned a regal crown to declare open Saturday's PTA summer fair.

"Come and have fun" read a notice from pupils.

Arena attractions included kick-boxing, the Bexhill Glimmer Stars Majorettes and a "Pebsham sing-along" featuring pupils' favourite songs.

Ann Ogilvie chairs a parent teacher association currently working towards the provision of staging for the school hall - an item which could cost between 3,000 and 4,000.

Her team on Saturday included vice-chairman Sandra Snook, treasurer Michelle Frampton, secretary Suzanna Upton and Jo Hodges, Julie Warden and Donna Chapman.
