The 71-year-old pedestrian was hurt when he was in collision with a car that had left the road in Crawley on Monday afternoon (August 10), Sussex Police said.

A spokesman added: “It is believed that the driver of the Volkswagen Passat may have suffered a medical episode before the incident in Broadfield Drive at 4.34pm and another motorist had stopped to assist. He was also injured when the vehicle moved again as he was trying to help.”

A spokesman added: “Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to report online or call 101 quoting Operation Dunmere.”
