Pedestrian dies after road collision
AN elderly woman who was in a collision with a car on the A22 near Uckfield on Wednesday last week died in hospital yesterday (Sunday).
The woman, who has not been named by police, was crossing the road just south of the Bell Lane junction in Uckfield when she was struck by a white Fiat Punto being driven by a 21-year-old man.
The 85-year-old suffered serious head and leg injuries and died at the East Surrey Hospital, Redhill, just after 1am.
Police said no arrest had been made.
