A pensioner from Telscombe who died after being knocked down on the A259 Buckle By-pass in Seaford has been named as 83-year-old Toni Rolls, from South Coast Road.

She was struck by a black Ford Fiesta when she tried to cross the A259 at 5.20pm on Wednesday November 20.

Sussex Police said she was treated by paramedics at the scene but died.

The 36-year-old driver of the Fiesta, from Seaford, was not hurt.

Last week Sergeant Clare Kenward said it appeared the victim had walked behind a bus after she got off it and then stepped in front of the oncoming car as she tried to cross the road.

Anyone who saw the collision or has any information about what happened should call Sussex Police on 101 quoting Operation Eastland or email
