Pensioner's 'happy slap' ordeal

A PENSIONER was slapped when he slowed his car to avoid hitting people in the road.

Police believe the attack may have been filmed on a mobile phone.

The 65-year-old was driving down Swan Road, Hailsham, when he saw three young men in the middle of the road.

He stopped and one of the youths slapped him in the face.

Sgt Dave Price said: 'It is possible this incident may have been recorded on one of the youths' mobile phones.

'I am keen to identify the people responsible as a prank involving attempting to stop a moving car is extremely irresponsible.'

The three were wearing light-coloured baseball caps and after the incident walked off in the direction of the Common Pond.

Their victim was shaken but uninjured after the attack last week.
