People oppose flood plain development

RESIDENTS on the Malling Estate in Lewes have formed a group to oppose plans to build a 70 space car park and new business premises on a flood plain area.

On Monday (February 4) more than 40 people took part in a public meeting and agreed to form Residents Against Inappropriate Development (Raid).

The group is to campaign against a proposal to develop land at the east of Malling Industrial Estate in Brooks Road.
