The annual Spring Live! show will take place at South of England Showground, Selsfield Road, Ardingly RH17 6TL from Saturday, May 2 to Sunday, May 3. Last year, more than 15,000 visitors attended to celebrate the best of springtime living and enjoy a host of activities. Younger visitors were eager to participate in the wand-making workshop, medieval games (with jesters on hand to help), animal meet and greets and funfair. They were also entertained by the maypole dancing display the first time many of the children had witnessed and taken part in the traditional celebratory seasonal dance. These are 13 of the events planned in the area this year, many of them annual favourites.

This year's South of England Agricultural Society Summer Show will take place from Thursday, June 11 to Saturday, June 13. Despite last year's bad weather, around 58,000 visitors attended the 53rd extravaganza. The three-day show welcomed visitors of all ages and interests from across the south east and afar. The 50-acre showground hosted a jam-packed programme of entertainment and top quality agricultural, equestrian and craftsmanship competition with over 800 livestock entries, 1,700 show jumping and showing competitors, and 90 Young Artisan Competition entries, along with 5 jaw-dropping displays from the Bolddog Lings motorcycle stunt team, and one very special visit from the childrens picture book character The Gruffalo. All this on top of the shows epic shopping village featuring around 500 stands, a live music stage, Wine Walk, heritage zone, funfair and more.

Lindfield Bonfire Night's annual event is set for Thursday, November 5. The society will also be holding its first event of the year on Thursday, January 30 at The Red Lion, 60 High Street, Lindfield. Mike Webster, one of the organisers, said: "The events we do throughout the year, like First Bonfire, are raising money to put our main event on. "Without support throughout the year to raise the target around 14,000 the event could not happen. "Our aim after all is to be able to put on a great free night for the community with a procession, bonfire and great fireworks. "We gave the best part of 800 to five charities after last year. The total of money raised by all Sussex bonfire societies last year was 65,000."

Lindfield Bonfire Night's annual event is set for Thursday, November 5. The society will also be holding its first event of the year on Thursday, January 30 at The Red Lion, 60 High Street, Lindfield.
