75-year-old pedestrian seriously injured in Arundel collision

Police officers are appealing for witnesses after a 75-year-old pedestrian was seriously injured in a collision near Arundel yesterday (January 7).

Emergency services responded to a collision involving a delivery van and a pedestrian in Church Lane just before 2.30pm, a spokesperson confirmed.

The 75-year-old pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to hospital. The 38-year-old male driver of the van – a Fiat Ducato – was unhurt.

“Anyone with information is asked to email [email protected] or call 101 quoting Operation Op Longshore,” A Sussex Police spokesperson said.

Responding to a request for comment, a spokesperson for the Kent Surrey Sussex Air Ambulance Charity added: “A helicopter from Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey Sussex (KSS) was dispatched to Arundel on 7 January. Our crew arrived on scene at 15:11 where they worked with SECAmb to help treat the patient, involved in a road traffic collision. The patient was transported to a major trauma centre by road with our crew accompanying them in the ambulance to continue delivering their care en route.”
