West Wittering beach sold out for the weekend as temperatures soarRoy Newman, visitor experience officer at RSPB Pagham, said: "Park at the visitors centre and it is a nice walk down from there to Church Norton and you will be able to see wildlife as you go. There is also a much larger car park in Selsey East Beach, again you can walk up to it from there."

Roy warned that the balmy weather could mean car parks will fill up quicker than usual.

"If the weather is like this then we will be full by 10am," he said, "it is a bit of an issue for residents down here. People should also avoid double yellow lines as traffic wardens do operate in the area so you are likely to get done.

"Please try and respect the local community."

Parking and traffic issues are not the only woes the reserve and its neighbours have to deal with, "Litter is another problem. I think every beauty spot in the country has had problems with litter during lockdown. It's because people are wanting to get outside which is understandable."

Roy said visitors can enjoy watching some of the migratory birds including the terns which will soon begin a trip to Africa as well as a host of butterflies.
