“Tuesday was a lovely morning, and the village green outside the New Inn was such a delightful place to chat and enjoy the sunshine. There was a busy bustle at Carrolls’ greengrocers, and the delightful owner of a new convenience store on the corner of Glovers Lane joined in with the ‘Banter’.

“Mike Norris came to tell us about his new Corner Café (in the old post office) opening at the beginning of August, and he assures me that we will not be able to resist his coffee! We must all make a visit.

“Many passers-by chatted freely about their lives, families, issues with the village and bus service whilst partaking of my homemade shortbread.

“I met so many positive people who were managing their daily lives in the best way possible, and certainly had hope for the future of their lovely friendly village. Sam Coleman the Labour Councillor for Sidley joined me to meet with the local community.

“It was so enjoyable meeting you all and I can’t wait until we meet again. A big Thank You to the residents of Sidley.”
