Bluebell Railway up for two national awards

The Bluebell Railway has been shortlisted by the Heritage Railway Association in its annual awards.

The Heritage Railway Association represents all preserved lines and organisations across the country.

The Bluebell Times newsletter, started by volunteers to keep staff, volunteers, members and supporters informed when the railway closed in March, has been shortlisted in the communications category of the awards.

In addition to this, Martin Clunes narrated a video filmed and produced by the Bluebell Railway’s marketing team to show the measures which had been put in place to ensure it was Covid-safe to allow it to reopen in August.

The video is on the shortlist for the award for the most innovative fundraising project or scheme.

Chris Hunford, chairman, said: “We are delighted to be shortlisted for these two prestigious awards.

“It recognises the significant work and dedication by the staff of the Bluebell Railway during what has been a difficult year.”
