Body found following emergency incident off coast of Eastbourne

A body has been found following an emergency incident off the coast in Eastbourne, Sussex Police have confirmed.

The body was found after Coastguard teams, supported by the Coastguard Helicopter Rescue 363 and Eastbourne RNLI’s inshore lifeboat, were deployed on Saturday, March 29 near Beachy Head.

Sussex Police have confirmed that the body of a 69 year-old man had been found on Monday, March 31.

The police spokesperson added: “His next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this time.

“There were no suspicious circumstances and a report will be prepared for HM Coroner.”
