People aged from eight to 75 took part in The Big Garden Clean Up at the Bognor Regis Youth and Community Centre in Westloats Lane. Kez Bridger, Bognorphenia founder and clean-up project manager, said: “The community centre is close to so many people’s hearts and has been used for many years and has so much history. I put a Facebook shout up asking for help and everyone was so supportive. I was blown away with the response we had 42 volunteers and 42 stories of all their memories – it was amazing to work so closely with the community and see great change.” Daniel Slade and his team from Tao helped clear the playground while the Tree Rangers and Crimsham Farm helped to get rid of some large trees. Dizzy Lizzy loaned the volunteers some equipment to use and Bognor Community Gardeners worked hard on both days. Trustee Chris Hoff said: “I was not expecting the end result – it was so overgrown there was a lot of work to be done. All those involved did an amazing Job and I cannot thank them enough for their time, but importantly they did it because they wanted to, which was amazing and it looks so different.”
