The charity joined forces with members of Extinction Rebellion Brighton to spell out the message Yogis 4 XR on the first day of its annual Brighton Yoga Festival, which this year ran at Brighton, Hove and Sussex Sixth Form College, across the weekend (July 27 and July 28).

The visual act featured 30 people on the back field of the Hove college, on Dyke Road, and was captured from above with a drone camera.

“We salute the resolute stance of Extinction Rebellion and will continue to demonstrate our solidarity with them beyond this year’s festival.

“There is no greater issue facing humanity than this.”

This year’s Brighton Yoga Festival, now in its sixth year, saw a turnout of more than 2,500 people, with some 100 classes and workshops on offer.

Entry was on a ‘pay what you can’ basis and money raised will help the charity deliver its outreach work, going towards projects such as yoga for women recovering from trauma and/or abuse, yoga for stressed out teenagers, and yoga for those with mental health concerns.
