The Brighton arm of national charity Choir With No Name has recorded a version of This is Me from the film The Greatest Showman with the charity's three other choirs.

It was produced in partnership with global music services company Kobalt and profits raised will go towards the Choir With No Name's work supporting those who have experienced homelessness and marginalisation.

Choir With No Name Brighton was formed in August last year after the charity partnered with Brighton Housing Trust.

Choir manager Alex Procter said: “The Brighton Choir With No Name is only a year old but we’ve come so far in that time.

"I’m proud that our members took part in creating this single, which sounds absolutely amazing."

She added: "Our community is one of real friendship, support and joy, founded in creativity and singing."

To mark the release of the single tomorrow, the choir has announced that it will perform the song and others at Jubilee Library, on Jubilee Street, from 4.30pm to 5pm, and put on a series of flashmobs across the city.

Speaking of the recording day, choir member Sandie said: “[It was] an incredible experience that I can say eclipses being homeless.

"This is a sign of things to come – I will be back on my feet. I feel so blessed and humbled to be part of a project that gives people hope. Choir With No Name has saved my life.”

World Homeless Day was first held on October 10, 2010. Its purpose is to draw attention to the needs of those who are homeless and provide opportunities for the community to get involved in responding to homelessness.

Choir With No Name Brighton meets on Mondays from 6.30pm at One Church, on Gloucester Place.
