The annual LGBTQ+ celebration will return for its 30th year from July 31 to August 2.

It will have the theme Fabuloso and organisers say it will be a 'fantastic and fabulous celebration of who you are'.

The news comes after this year's event, which drew thousands of people to the city from August 2 to 4, had the theme Generations of Love and commemorated the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall uprising in New York, considered the start of the gay liberation movement.

Announcing the news, Brighton and Hove Pride has also revealed that its weekend of events at Preston Park, which follows its community parade on the Saturday, has been rebranded for 2020 from Pride in the Park to Fabuloso on the Park.

As well as 'main stage artists' and 'popular favourite attractions' organisers said visitors can expect 'a host of new, diverse and immersive experiences'.

A spokesman said: "Expect queer theatre, a spoken word, political speakers' corner, pop and alternative cabaret, the Trans Fabuloso stage and Sunday's community day featuring queer artists and performers who span the 30 year period since Brighton & Hove Pride began."

Branding for next year's celebration created with trans activist and artist Fox Fisher was also released today to accompany the news, with variations to appear in coming months.

Details of when the tickets will go on sale and the acts set to perform have yet to be announced.
