Burgess school head says Covid testing ‘important’ as pupils return to classrooms

A Burgess Hill headteacher has stressed the importance of testing for coronavirus when students return to schools next month.

Rob Carter, head of St Paul’s Catholic College, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming students back to school from March 8.

“An important part of this is supporting lateral flow testing to create a safe and happy environment for the whole school community.

“All lessons have been ‘live’ online since January but nothing can replace the classroom experience and the benefits it provides academically, pastorally and personally.”

He spoke out after prime minister announced a roadmap out of lockdown on Monday.
