Shannaz said: “Please whatever you believe, please send prayers and love and light to my darling beautiful sister. She is a true fighter but she needs all the help she can get right now. Hope + Pray = Miracle.”

She added that medical staff have put a drain in Shereen’s brain which will relieve the pressure from the fluid which has built up.

Shannaz said: “It gives her the best chance of preserving her brain.”

Shannaz said: “We will take care of your babies for now but they need you. We need you back home baby girl, keep going. You’ve got this.”

Shereen’s husband Marvin was able to visit her yesterday, Monday, Shannaz said. She added: “They also let him take in laminated pictures so they can wipe them down, this has brought us so much comfort.”

A fundraiser has also been set up to help the 32-year-old former Hazelwick student.

The fund, which has raised more than £500, will be used to support Shereen’s recovery and to support her family. To donate visit https://www.gofundme.com/f/for-shereen-and-her-family
