Horsham Park has been recognised by the prestigious international Green Flag Award Scheme as one of the best green spaces in the UK, much to the delight of Horsham District Council’s Parks and Countryside team, a council spokeswoman told the County Times.
The scheme, managed by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy under licence from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, recognises and rewards well-managed parks and green spaces, setting the benchmark standard for their management across Britain and around the world.
The popular venue in North Street was illuminated green by the council to mark the honour yesterday evening, October 14.
