Capturing Crawley in lockdown

A photographic project has recorded some fantastic images of Crawley in lockdown.

Capturing Lockdown is a collaboration between LPK Learning, Woodard Photography and Crawley Museum which gives snapshots of residents’ experience of life during the coronavirus outdreak.

Crawley residents are being photographed on their doorsteps across the town and the community is being invited to share their own images which will go on show at Crawley Museum.

Linda Woodard, from Woodard Photography said: “This project brings our community together, capturing households and what lockdown has meant to them. I’ve had such amazing feedback from people and, judging from the response, turning this into an exhibition would mean so much to the people of Crawley.”

Andrea Dumbrell from Crawley Museum said: “We’re really looking forward to hosting this exhibition, especially as the contributions come from the people of Crawley themselves. Photographs are a really powerful way of sharing experiences.”

LPK Learning, a community interest group which runs family learning and wellbeing events across the town, have coordinated the project. Lucy Bear, director of LPK said: “We’re very excited to develop this project and by using our links with families and community groups across the borough, we are able to help capture the lockdown experience of the whole community.” It is not too late to get involved in Capturing Lockdown.
