Car freed from scaffold cage as Sussex parking row erupts

A car which was trapped in scaffolding has been freed from its metal cage in Sussex.

A scaffold cage was built around the blue Volkswagen amid a parking dispute in the Beech Hill area of Haywards Heath.

A trailer had been cemented into the ground next to the vehicle before the cage was built, according to Inspector Darren Taylor of Mid Sussex Police.

He added: “I know this job throws up many different things but I have never seen anything like it before.”

The parties involved are being spoken to about the dispute, which is believed to be over a park space, Inspector Taylor said.

He added: “My team are looking into what offences if any need to be investigated.”
