Changes to Horsham leisure venues after lifting of lockdown and switch to Tier 2: What you need to know

Changes and restrictions to council parks, open spaces and leisure venues in Horsham come into force this week following the lifting of lockdown and the start of Tier 2 status.

Horsham District Council says that outdoor gyms, ball courts and Broadbridge Heath Skate Park will re-open as normal from Wednesday (December 2).

Tennis courts will be available to book from Thursday December 3.

Horsham Skate Park will partially re-open. A section of the ramps will remain closed due to surface and structural damage and the affected area will be fenced off.

Highwood Pump Track will reopen on Wednesday December 2 but there is now a trial closing time of 6pm. After 6pm riders will be asked to leave the site by Berkeley Homes security staff.

Benches outside the Kaya Café in Horsham Park will be returned to use on Wednesday December 2. A council spokesman said: “The need for adequate social distancing in this area of the park will continue to be monitored.”

All leisure centres will open on Wednesday and Horsham’s Capitol Theatre and cinema will open on Friday December 4.

The council spokesman added: “The council will keep the situation under constant review. Please visit our website www.horsham.gov.uk/coronavirus for updated information.”
