Clean up cost revealed after travellers camp on three Horsham sites

The cost of cleaning up three Horsham sites after travellers camped on them has been revealed.

A large group of caravans pitched up on Bennetts Field before moving to the Needles Playing field off Granary Way last month.

The group then moved to the Hills Farm Playing field before leaving the area.

Horsham District Council has now confirmed the cost of cleaning up the sites after the travellers moved on.

A spokeswoman said: “The costs incurred for the clear up process after the travellers left their encampments recently works out at some £788.26.”

This is including the use of large bins that were provided in each of three locations, she added.
