Collection to help Brighton's homeless

A Brighton woman has been collecting sleeping bags to give to the homeless.

Abi Kolliari, 61, has worked as a volunteer with Sussex Homeless Support Group for a number of years.

She has collected 71 beating her target of 70.

She said: "I wanted whilst at home in a bubble with mum aged 87 to step up this winter. So I decided to campaign on local social media and ask for outdoor commodities, but sleeping bags was my preference but for affordability I asked for socks, hats, gloves and anything suitable for winter.

"Sussex Homeless Support Group base themselves at the clocktower every Sunday lunch time and Weds evening.

The support group gives out hot food, toiletries, clothes. As well as moral and emotional support. A doctor is also present and there is a vet for street dogs.
