Coronavirus: Charleston Trust to close temporarily

Charleston Trust is the latest venue to announce its closure in efforts to stop the spread of Covid-19 (coronavirus).

The venue, in Firle, will be shut from tomorrow (Thursday, March 19) ‘until further notice’.

A spokesperson said: “The health, safety and wellbeing of our staff, volunteers, visitors and community is of the utmost importance to us.

“In line with the latest official government advice, Charleston is temporarily closed from Thursday 19 March until further notice to support efforts to contain the spread of Covid-19 (coronavirus).

“If you have booked a ticket to Charleston’s house, exhibitions, event or workshop programme for an upcoming date, our team will be in touch with you via email in the coming days.”

The spoksperson said the outlook for Charleston Festival, which is due to take place from May 15 to 25, was ‘changing rapidly’ and that an update would be shared as soon as they were able to.
