Coronavirus: Dog walker supports Age UK West Sussex by offering free service to owners unable to leave home.

Matt owns local dog-walking business ROODDOG. which covers Brighton, Hove and Shoreham, so decided to put his experience to good use during lockdown.

Helen Rice, Chief Executive at Age UK West Sussex, Brighton said “Since lockdown, we’ve had a huge amount of support from the general public, offering their different skills and experience to support older people across our area. We’re so grateful to Matt at ROODDOG and everyone who has come forward to help.

If you’re struggling due to self-isolation or you know someone who is, then please get in touch. We might be able to get your dog out and about and we can also help with shopping, delivering essential medication and tackling loneliness through befriending phone calls.”

Age UK West Sussex, Brighton and Hove quickly adapted the way it works in response to the Coronavirus pandemic. As well as doorstep deliveries and befriending, the charity also offers information and advice, wellbeing information and emergency welfare/safety support for the most vulnerable.
