Coronavirus: Figures show tragic number of deaths across neighbourhoods in Worthing and Adur

The data from the Office of National Statistics shows how different neighbourhoods across the area have been affected.

Figures reveal both the number of coronavirus-related deaths between March 2020 and Feburary 2021, and the percentage of all deaths in the neighbourhood during this time which were covid-related.

For Worthing, the figures are as follows:

Broadwater South – 17 covid-related deaths – 18 per cent of all deaths

Durrington North – 16 deaths – 17 per cent

Broadwater West – 9 deaths – 15 per cent

Heene – 44 deaths – 14 per cent

Worthing Central – 17 deaths – 13 per cent

Goring-by-Sea – 16 deaths – 13 per cent

Durrington South – 12 deaths – 13 per cent

Northbrook – 12 deaths – 11 per cent

Broadwater East – 6 deaths – 11 per cent

East Worthing – 11 deaths – 10 per cent

Salvington – 8 deaths – 10 per cent

High Salvington & Findon Valley – 12 deaths – 9 per cent

West Worthing – 12 deaths – 9 per cent

Meanwhile for Adur, the figures show:

Hillside – 17 covid-related deaths – 17 per cent of all deaths

North Lancing – 10 deaths – 17 per cent

Buckingham – 10 deaths – 14 per cent

Marsh Barn & Widewater – 8 deaths – 12 per cent

South Lancing – 17 deaths – 11 per cent

Kingston & Southwick – 9 deaths – 8 per cent

Cokeham & Sompting – 8 deaths – 7 per cent

Shoreham Central & Beach – 6 deaths – 7 per cent
