Coronavirus: Five-week roadworks in busy Eastbourne road shutdown
Five-week roadworks which began on March 2 in a busy Eastbourne Road have been temporarily shutdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Friday Street roadworks, carried out by East Sussex Highways as part of crossing improvement works, were supposed to finish on April 12 but the site will now be closed until further notice.
An East Sussex Highways spokesperson said on Twitter, “We have had to temporarily shutdown our works at Friday Street. This is due to material availability during the current Covid-19 situation.
“Our team are currently making the area safe and closing down the site until further notice. Thank you for your understanding.”
