Coronavirus: Seaford Head Golf Course closed ‘until further notice’

Seaford Head Golf Course has closed to visitors amid the coronavirus crisis.

Seaford Town Council said in a statement: “In line with the Government’s announcement on Monday, March 23, Seaford Head Golf Course will be closed from Tuesday, March 24, until further notice.

“The Golf Professional and Greenkeeping team will continue to attend the course for security and essential maintenance reasons as and when necessary.”

The town council also confirmed it had closed all recreational facilities such as play areas and Seaford Skatepark until further notice.

It reminded residents that they can still exercise once a day in parks and outside spaces, but urged them to do it responsibly, complying with guidance on social distancing.

It added: “To support the guidance on social distancing the town council has, in partnership with Lewes District Council, closed all public toilets and concessions until further notice.”

The town council has cancelled all upcoming events between March 20, and June 1.

This includes the Veteran’s and Armed Forces Day which was due to take place on Saturday, June 27.
