Covid jabs cancelled suddenly in Henfield after electrical fault spoils vaccines

An electrical fault at Henfield Medical Centre has led to the sudden cancellation of vaccinations against Covid.

A fuse board tripped in a section of the building on Tuesday night leading to a rise in temperatures which left the vaccines unusable.

A spokeswoman for the practice said: “We would like to apologise to our patients for any distress and inconvenience caused over the last few days.

“We are working on re-booking people’s vaccinations as soon as possible.

“Unfortunately, during the night of 16 February the practice’s fuse board tripped in a small section of our building - this meant that for a period of time the vaccines we had were exposed to temperatures outside of their permitted levels.

“Following formal guidance, it was agreed to cancel patients for the coming days and to rebook them in as soon as possible.

“We would like to thank our patients for their understanding and patience, and kind words of support.

“We look forward to welcoming patients for their vaccination we are hoping from next week.”

Patients with appointments booked for this week were contacted by text and phone to tell them of the cancellations.

A number of people later took to social media to post messages of support for the medical centre.

One said: “Keep up the brilliant work x”

And another posted: it must be a nightmare to organise .... thank you for all you are doing.”

Anogther said: “Such a shame, these things happen, Henfield appreciate the hard work I’m sure x”
