Major plans to redevelop Crawley Station and Overline House have been granted planning permission by Crawley Borough Council, providing a much-needed boost to the town’s economy.

The council’s Planning Committee granted permission for the Arora Group’s Station Gateway £70m scheme at its meeting on Monday 26 April.

- Upgrading the look and feel of Crawley Station and ticket hall

- The retention and upgrading of the existing surface-level car park

- The complete refurbishment and extension of Overline House, providing 83 flats, with two additional floors and new ground level/retail and business units

- Three additional new residential blocks containing 223 flats to the west of Overline House.

The Station Gateway scheme will also unlock more than £7 million of public funding investment from the Crawley Growth Programme and the Crawley Towns Fund to upgrade and modernise Crawley Bus Station and the surrounding public realm in Station Way and Friary Way.

The Arora Group, in partnership with Network Rail, Crawley Borough Council, West Sussex County Council and the station operators Govia Thameslink Railway worked on these exciting plans.
