The crash happened on the road southbound near the junction with the B2135 at West Grinstead, a spokesman for West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service said.

He added: “Crews from Partridge Green, Horsham, Crawley and Storrington were mobilised after the call came in at 11am.

“Upon arrival firefighters found no persons trapped, but administered first aid.”

Officers from Sussex Police and paramedics from SECAmb were also on the scene, he said. The last crew left the incident at 11.38am.”
