Community fundraisers have started a project to make sure Eastbourne people on their own are not forgotten Christmas.

Don and Abby McPhee, who regularly organise fundraising events for various causes, plan to deliver luxury items to those struggling with loneliness and isolation.

Don and Abby are working with Sue Lowe from The Prince Albert and Angela Cain from The British Queen to bring some festive cheer to Eastbourne residents and ensure no one feels alone this Christmas.

Don said: “Sue came up with this idea and we’ve had a tremendous response from local businesses, schools and individuals.

“This has been the most difficult year and many elderly residence are still struggling with loneliness and isolation.”

The project will involve delivering up to one hundred parcels with a few luxury items and surprises.

The public are being asked to nominate a friend or neighbour who they feel might like to receive a special Christmas parcel.
