From Labradors to Dachshunds, Dogs Trust is currently caring for a variety of dogs in need of homes.
We’ve showcased 12 of the adorable dogs currently up for adoption. Take a look below and see if you can give any of them a loving home.
1. Asher - 18-month-old Labrador
Asher is an 'energetic boy with a lot of love to give'. Dogs Trust said he still has much to learn about the big wide world around him and is seeking an active family who could offer him additional support with his training. As well as brushing up on some of the basics, Asher will benefit from some confidence building, as he can be an anxious chap at times. Asher must be the only pet at home. When it comes to meeting other dogs, he tends to become frustrated, which can result in reactivity. He will require further socialisation and training to support him with this once he’s settled into his new routine. Asher has early-stage hip dysplasia so is looking for a family who are happy to take this on and give Asher all the TLC he deserves. Photo: Dogs Trust
2. Little Bruno - ten-month-old Dachshund
Little Bruno is a fun-loving, cheeky boy with bundles of personality, but he can be shy at times, Dogs Trust said. After experiencing lots of changes in his short life, he’s now seeking a calm, patient home where he can build his confidence and blossom into his true vibrant character. Plenty of on-going positive reinforcement training would help him to thrive, so he is seeking adopters who are willing to support him. Bruno needs a quiet and predictable, adult-only home, where his new family can offer him the time and space to feel comfortable. Photo: Dogs Trust
3. Lexi - eight-year-old Labrador cross
Lexi loves spending time with her humans and is always keen to make new friends. Although she’s very friendly and easy-going in many ways, Lexi can be uneasy when people come too close to her while she’s eating, or if they challenge her around food. Because of this, she is best suited to a home where the youngest members of her family are of secondary school age, sensible, and able to be understanding of her need for space occasionally, Dogs Trust said. Lexi is selective of which dogs she likes and prefers to keep to herself when out on her walks. She’ll need to be the only pet in the household. Photo: Dogs Trust
4. Marley - nine-year-old Springer Spaniel
Marley is a sweet, quiet boy who loves to relax and have fun in equal measures. He’s a friendly boy with his favourite people but can be unsure of strangers initially. Dogs Trust said he’s the 'most endearing chap' once you’ve made friends! Marley has some sensitivity around handling, especially when it involves his feet or when being touched while resting. He will need to wear a muzzle during vet visits and grooming, as a precaution, to keep everyone comfortable and safe. He also prefers a peaceful environment, particularly when snoozing. Due to his sensitivities, Marley is seeking an adult-only home, but he could have visiting older-teens who are respectful of his space, Dogs Trust said. He could possibly live with a well-suited dog, if they matched his gentle, quiet energy. Photo: Dogs Trust
