Could you make their dreams come true this Christmas?
Dogs Trust is currently caring for several adorable pups who are waiting for someone to take a chance on them.
Take a look below and see if you can give any of them a loving home.
1. Baxter - Jack Russell Terrier cross
Baxter is a sweet senior chap who was found as a stray. He is seeking a calm, adult-only home where he can take his time adjusting to his new surroundings. He can be a timid boy when it comes to strangers, especially when they approach his indoor safe space, so he would prefer minimal visitors to the home. Baxter is looking for a home without any other animals so he can receive the undivided attention he needs while continuing to learn about life in a home, Dogs Trust said. He’ll need his new family to gradually build his comfort level with being left alone once he feels fully settled. Photo: Dogs Trust
2. Harvey - nine-year-old Shih Tzu
Full of character, nine-year-old Harvey is bound to make for a fantastic companion to understanding adopters, who can build up a bond gradually, and who could offer him a quieter home environment. Due to his worries around unknown people, Harvey is seeking an adult only home, with minimal visitors. He is unable to live with any other pets and is happiest when keeping to himself, but can walk with calm and steady dogs of a similar size to himself. A garden of his own is essential and he’d love his own little den, or safe space, where he can take himself off to rest when he needs to. Photo: Dogs Trust
3. Stu - five-year-old Bichon Frise
Stu is a happy-go-lucky dog with a friendly, cheeky character. He loves being with his favourite humans and enjoys meeting new people out and about. However, he isn’t as keen when strangers approach his house and would prefer a quieter home environment without too many visitors coming and going, Dogs Trust said. While he’s an affectionate boy who likes a gentle fuss, Stu is very uncomfortable with formal handling and needs ongoing training and reassurance from his adopters when visiting the vets or groomers. Stu is looking for a home where the youngest family members are in their later teen and is best suited as the only pet in his home. Photo: Dogs Trust
4. Cringle - four-month-old Boxer cross German Shepherd
Cringle is a sensitive chap and is looking for patient adopters who are enthusiastic to train their new pup. Cringle could live with a well-rounded dog who is used to the energy of a puppy, and is able to share his home with children over 14. He cannot live with cats or other animals. Cringle is still finding his feet and getting used to all the interesting and potentially scary new experiences the world has to offer. He will benefit from adopters who are happy to take things at his pace to help build his confidence. He has never been left home alone before, so this will need to built up very gradually once settled. Photo: Dogs Trust
