Drivers warned of road delays in Amberley during new footpath construction

Drivers are being warned to expect delays during construction of a new £25,000 footpath in Amberley next month.

The new path is to be built along a stretch of the B2139 to improve access to the village playing field.

The path will replace the grass verge on the northern side of the road between Newland Gardens and the playing field.

The go ahead for the improvement scheme was given by West Sussex County Council following a suggestion by Amberley Parish Counci

Works are scheduled to take place between Monday November 16 and Friday December 4.

Two-way temporary traffic lights will be in place on the B2139 Turnpike Road while the works take place.

A county council spokesperson said: “We apologise for any inconvenience and will do all we can to minimise this as much as possible.”

The contractor for the scheme is Landbuild Ltd.
