East Grinstead Lions book shop now open

A new shop which will support local charities and community projects by selling second-hand adult and children’s books has opened in East Grinstead.

Located in Martell’s department store, the East Grinstead Lions Book Shop was opened on Monday, April 26 by town mayor John Dabell.

It replaces the book sale the club previously provided in Queens Walk.

A spokesman for the group said: “After the red ribbon had been cut, Brian Richens, East Grinstead Lions president, thanked the mayor and Martell family for their support in the Lions’ new venture.

“He also thanked the many local residents who have donated their unwanted books to the book shop which in turn will enable the Lions to help those in need in the local community.”

The book shop is open on the second floor of Martell’s, Monday to Saturday from 9.30am to 5.30pm.
