Stubcroft Farm Campsite received the accolade in recognition of their commitment to responsible, ethical and sustainable tourism.

Managing director Simon Green said: “We are really pleased to receive this award and it is a credit to our team at Stubcroft who have worked hard over the years to achieve this. It is great that a small family business like ours has achieved the same gold level award as major international venues such as the Ritz Hotel, Chatsworth and Blenheim Palace – albeit on a much smaller budget!”

It incorporates a range of criteria from the quality of facilities, energy efficiency, responsible waste disposal and recycling, environmental and wildlife projects, accessibility and more.

Last year Stubcroft received a silver award from Green Tourism, as well as a gold award in the Best Camping, Caravanning and Holiday Park category at the Beautiful South Tourism Awards.

It was also given a top Quality in Tourism rating and a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence, and was a regional finalist in the Federation of Small Business’s Green and Ethical category.
