Eastbourne Beacon cookie shop closes

Millie’s Cookies has its shutters down and a sign saying it is now ‘permanently closed’.

The sign said, “We regret to inform you this store is now permanently closed.

“We the team at the Eastbourne store would like to say thank you to all our customers.”

It directed customers to its nearest stores in Brighton and Crawley.

Millie’s Cookies was contacted for comment.

It is understood the lease on the shop ran out and the business’ owner, SSP Group, took the decision not to extend it.

It is not clear how many jobs have been affected.

Millie’s Cookies is known for its giant cookies with personalised messages for birthdays and other occasions.

It also sells ice cream and coffee.
